Delta
Delta, from Zed Industries, is a multiplayer environment for coding with agents and reviewing their work. On Oct 27, 2026 a Delta CLI and an open-source Claude Code plugin added /delta share and /delta join, so a teammate can join the shared conversation and worktree.

Claude Code
On Oct 27, 2026 Delta announced Claude Code multiplayer, in beta. Run /delta share in Claude Code to get a link. A teammate runs /delta join <link> in their own Claude Code session to join the shared thread. The plugin shares the conversation and worktree through Delta, and the CLI keeps the files synchronized across machines. Each person uses their own Claude session, with the shared conversation as context.
The plugin is open source under AGPL-3.0 at github.com/zed-industries/delta-claude. Delta's Oct 27 post calls it a reference implementation for other harnesses and says more harnesses start with Pi. The homepage labels the CLI Beta and lists Pi as coming soon. The plugin README requires Claude Code 2.1.303 or newer. It says a recorded session stores the conversation plus staged, unstaged, and untracked files that are not ignored.
Delta says a shared session can be handed over before it is ready for a pull request. Someone can stay in the Delta app while a teammate stays in Claude Code and they still share one thread. The homepage says a thread shared from Claude Code can be joined from the Delta app, and the other way around. The docs page says the plugin is in beta and that its behavior can change between releases.
Review
Zed's Sep 16, 2026 public beta post calls Delta a multiplayer environment for coding with agents and reviewing what they build. Zed says it turned off pull requests on Delta's own repository and now builds Delta inside Delta. Joining a thread does not require a commit or a push. Teammates see the same worktrees and can keep working on their own machine if you log off.
Zed says a review can be its own subthread, with an isolated copy of the parent thread's worktrees, so people can use agents to explore and try changes without changing the original work. A reviewer can request a revision or fix the problem with an agent, and those fixes can be incorporated into the parent thread before the change is landed. Zed says 33 of the people building Delta have landed 570 changes to main since pull requests were turned off.
The Aug 12, 2026 introduction says comments can sit on the conversation or on any line of code in the worktree, and that they stay anchored as the code changes. Threads are private until they are shared. The agent is in the thread, so a reviewer can ask it to explain or fix a change instead of reconstructing the decision from a diff.
DeltaDB and Git
Delta is built on DeltaDB. The public beta post says DeltaDB extends Git's content-based versioning with incremental versions based on deltas. It records edits between commits along with messages from humans and agents. A commit remains the checkpoint you push, pull, and build from. DeltaDB keeps the work between those checkpoints. Teammates who never open Delta still see a normal Git repository.
Zed says zed-industries/zed stays on GitHub for now, because that is where the community files issues and sends changes. Contributors can share Delta threads next to their pull requests. The Aug 12 post says DeltaDB replicates the conversation and the worktree in real time, and that each person gets a local copy kept in sync. The homepage says swapping the model, the harness, or the machine leaves every change, and the conversation behind it, in DeltaDB.
Where it runs
The public beta post says Delta runs on macOS, Linux, and Windows, in the browser with nothing to install, and in a mobile browser. The homepage lists the app on desktop, web, and mobile, and lists the CLI as a separate beta. The Aug 12 post says work can move to a cloud runner so the agent continues after the laptop is closed, with the conversation and code still synchronized to the thread.
Checked Oct 27, 2026, the delta.dev navigation said Now in Beta. Aug 12, 2026 was the private beta. Sep 16, 2026 was the public beta. Zed says Delta is a new application, that DeltaDB will come to the Zed editor later, and that the browser app is the same Rust application compiled to WebAssembly and rendered with WebGL. The footer names Zed Industries.
Plans
On Sep 16, 2026 Zed wrote that Delta was free during the public beta, that paid plans for individuals and teams would come soon, and that a free version would always exist. The pricing page checked Oct 27, 2026 lists Personal at $0 and Pro at $10 per month, so this listing follows the pricing page where the two disagree. Personal at $0 is the free plan on that page. The page does not say the public beta waives Pro.
The pricing FAQ says Delta uses the same account and plans as Zed, so an existing Zed plan applies to Delta. Edit predictions are not available in Delta. With a Zed Business organization selected, that organization's server-enforced data and privacy controls apply in Delta. The Delta pricing page does not list a Business price.
